When I was accepted into photography school at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) in 2006, I fell in love with product photography and was sure I would end up working for some big add agency somewhere in this amazing world.
But after my second year of studies, and excelling in my portraiture classes, I started working for a local wedding photographer and booked a few weddings of my own. Quick money! That was my mentality at the time. I showed up to photograph my first wedding, and 17 hours of photography later (yes it was exhausting), I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to do more than photograph people.
Photographing people makes me feel like I’m making a difference in their lives. Capturing their expressions and moments between loved ones that they can cherish forever. Or showing a woman how beautiful she is and how her confidence is shining through the images during a boudoir session.
It’s cheesy, to the max, and I love every minute of it because it’s also the truth!
I’ve been photographing absolutely amazing people since 2008 and have been fortunate to spend time both in Edmonton, AB and Kelowna, BC growing my experience and business.
Thank you to everyone who has stood by me and encouraged my photography adventure, and if you’re new to knowing me, welcome! I hope we can become friends soon!
