If your life has been like mine, this summer has been one of the busiest ever. Work, and work on top of that work, and in the weekends you do have off you’re jumping in the car as soon as the work day is done and you’re off to the mountains for a camping trip. This is GREAT, but whoa, has it been busy.

One thing I can always appreciate to bring me back to the ground and slow down are flowers. I’ve always loved flowers and never took much interest in photographing them until my dear mother mentioned how sweet my nature photos are. (thanks mom).

I was fortunate and able to make some time for a walk around the NAIT grounds and courtyards to slow down and photograph the flowers. I can honestly say it was one of my favorite work days in a long time. I got to photograph what I wanted, with a close friend, and just enjoy the outdoors with no time limits on how long I could focus on one single flower.

If you haven’t taken the time this summer to slow down and do something special for yourself, please do so. Before we know it it’ll be fall and the ground will be covered in leaves, and we’ll all be saying “where’d the summer go”!

Stop what you’re doing, take a deep breath, and move on to something that brings you joy, just because you can.

lots of love
