It’s been some time since these two got engaged. So long, in fact, that I have already photographed their wedding. But, I was scrolling through some older images from 2014 thinking about what I could blog to add some more content to my new website, and this session stood out for a few reasons.

1) I am very connected to these two lovely people as Alex and I have photographed many weddings together and on top of that, are dear friends and photo school classmates (critics turned best friends).

2) I took these photos on my own.  No assistant, no second photographer. Just me (which is a rare situation).

3) The session was done in Vancouver - so beautiful year round and a place I’ve visited often but only photographed in once.

Now if anyone knows Alex, he is late for just about everything (fortunately not his own wedding). But yes, he WAS late for his engagement photos. And if anyone knows me, I am notoriously early for everything - which makes people who are running late seem like they’re running REALLY late. Needless to say, I got stressed as the sun was going down and we were a little rushed through the session. Speed walking along the wall in Stanley Park to find the right spot, chasing the light, making sure the background still looked good…and this is what came of it.

I have to say, I’m pretty happy with the results and photographing good looking people, in a good looking city, with good looking light…well…it can’t get much better than that!

To my friends, Alexander and Miriam. May your marriage be filled with lots of snuggles and laughs. Thank you for having complete faith in me and my photography talents on your engagement session, wedding day, and possibly some photos to come in the future? ;)

Lots of Love

Amy
